Founding
Liv Pearson, a student at Benilde-St. Margaret’s, founded Hope for Her in 2024 after a simple act of cleaning out her closet sparked a bigger vision.
Liv has always been passionate about women’s rights and empowerment. As she sorted through clothes to donate, she reflected on how fortunate she was—and how many others weren’t as lucky. One particular story stayed with her: the experience of a close friend.
When her friend was just 13, the police were called to her home due to a domestic violence disturbance. She and her younger sibling were placed into foster care with nothing but the clothes on their backs. She remembered how alone and unprepared she felt—days spent without even the most basic essentials.
Hearing her friend’s story inspired Liv. She realized there needed to be more support for individuals, especially women and children, escaping domestic violence.
That realization became Hope for Her—an organization dedicated to providing essential items and a message of solidarity: You are not alone.
